We had a couple of special visitors in our assembly today. Penny Parter from Guide Dogs For the Blind came to receive a cheque for £87 which was the money raised from class 3s' 'Healthy eating project '
She brought in Apollo and Umber to meet the children. Apollo is a puppy currently being trained by Penny and Umbro, who is 8 years old, has now rertired. It costs £50 000 to train a guide dog and all the moey is funded by donations!
There is currently a waiting list for thousands of dogs so the work the trainers do along with the donations is absolutely vital! Penny trains the dogs for a year before they go to a training school in London. The children certainly loved both Pennys' dogs and learnt alot about their training.
