On Friday 23rd October 2015 the very first ‘Bawdsey School Race for Life’ took place. With over 90% of the school running to raise funds for Cancer Research this was a very exciting event.
Two races took place both beginning at East Lane Car Park, a short race of half a mile and a longer run of just over two miles. Everyone was in high spirits and some great fancy dress costumes proved to be quite a sight against the back drop of our beautiful Suffolk countryside.
Everyone made it home safely, with Gabriel the first boy and Milly and May the first girls home in the shorter race and Joe the first boy and Martha the first girl in the longer run. Special mention must go to Fergus, Ayla and Natasha who all completed the long run despite being in Class 1
A huge thank you must go to all the parents who helped marshal the event, without your help we could not have hosted such a successful race. Also the children and supporting parents deserve thanks, this was a wonderful activity.
