A poem inspired by a visit to the American War Cemetary in Normandy.
Girls and boys gathered here
To see their loved ones graves;
Cousins, brothers, sisters, mothers
All gather here today.
Sadness, happiness, sorrow all lives here,i
Sitting next to soldiers,
Who thought they had nothing to fear.
The known and unknown
All sit among us here.
Friends, family, relatives
We're all sad to see them pass,
But what they bought with each death
Was freedom.
At last.
By Emma.
