Bawdsey football team played Kyson football team on Thursday 16th of May. It was a lovely spring afternoon at Bawdsey primary school, the sun was out it was the perfect settings for a football match. Kyson kicked off Mr Duncan blew the whistle to start the game. We were up against it from the start as they had a quick shot from centre that Jesse, our reliable goalkeeper, caught very easily. We put in a lot of effort to get a shot away and when we did Teddy smashed home the opening goal after 7 minutes. The first goal gave Bawdsey confidence to push forward and grab another just minutes later on, 13 minutes. Sebastian dribbled the ball down the line and whipped the ball back into the box for Sam to head just wide of the far post, very close! Kyson went straight to the other end and volleyed in for 2-1!
The half time break was upon us but Kyson had one last attack which they hit the post from a corner, unlucky.Mr Duncan blew the whistle for half time. The second half got under way we kicked off. Bawdsey put early pressure on and still couldn’t score. But our luck soon went against us because Kyson broke through the defence and slotted home for 2-2. Unfortunately for Kyson, we finally cut through the defence when Sebastian scored by skilfully dribbling the ball down the wing before taking full advantage of this then curled it beautifully into the corner for 3-2 to Bawdsey.Kyson looked devastated after that. So we kept pilling on the pressure until their defence made a clumsy tackle inside the area ,resulting in a penalty which Teddy despatched confidently. We worked it from the back of our defence, and then worked it through the midfield to Sam who slotted home from Sebastian’s cross. So it finished 6-2 to Bawdsey. Awesome!!!!!!
